System availability varies according to the individual vehicle.

A vehicle being supported does not mean that every control module or diagnostic function will necessarily be available.

Bi-Directional Active Testing

The LR V3.0 supports bi-directional control, also known as active or actuator testing, on compatible vehicles.

Instead of simply reading information from the vehicle, the scanner can send commands to supported electronic components and monitor their response.

Depending on the vehicle and control module, active tests may include components such as:

  • ABS pump

  • Window regulators

  • Fuel pump

  • Wiper and washer motors

  • EGR valve

  • Fuel injectors

  • Cooling fans

  • Transmission solenoids

  • Lights and electrical outputs

  • Other supported actuators

This can be extremely useful when diagnosing electrical and electronic faults because it can help determine whether a component responds correctly when commanded directly.

Active-test availability varies by model, year, ECU and vehicle specification.

Important – Functions Vary by Vehicle

The LR V3.0 does not provide all 36 functions on every vehicle.

Function availability depends on factors including:

  • Vehicle model

  • Production year

  • Engine

  • Transmission

  • ECU specification

  • Factory-installed equipment

  • Software version

  • Communication protocol

  • Vehicle security restrictions

Some supported vehicles will provide substantially more functionality than others.

For example, the fact that the LR V3.0 supports DPF regeneration, injector coding, air-suspension calibration or battery registration does not mean those functions are available on every Jaguar, Land Rover or Range Rover.

If a particular specialist function is essential, check the latest iCarsoft vehicle and function coverage information before ordering.

Air Suspension Diagnostics & Service

Air suspension is widely used across many Range Rover and Land Rover models.

On supported vehicles, the LR V3.0 may provide functions including:

  • Read and clear air-suspension fault codes

  • View relevant live data

  • Suspension calibration

  • Ride-height adjustment

  • System initialisation

  • Supported suspension resets

The precise functions available depend on the vehicle's suspension system and control module.

Battery Management

On compatible vehicles, battery-management functions may include:

  • Battery-state information

  • Replacement battery registration

  • Battery-system reset procedures

  • Related battery-management service operations

Battery registration requirements vary between vehicle models and electrical systems.

DPF Functions

On supported diesel vehicles, the LR V3.0 can provide DPF-related service functions such as regeneration and associated reset or relearn procedures.

DPF regeneration should only be carried out when the vehicle is in a suitable condition and the operator understands the procedure being performed.

DPF functions are not available on every diesel vehicle.

CAN-FD Support

The LR V3.0 supports CAN-FD, a newer high-speed vehicle communication protocol increasingly used in modern Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.

It also supports conventional CAN and a range of earlier diagnostic communication protocols.

CAN-FD support means the scanner is capable of communicating using CAN-FD where supported; it does not guarantee unrestricted access to every control module on every CAN-FD-equipped vehicle.

AutoVIN Identification

On compatible vehicles, AutoVIN can automatically retrieve vehicle information after the scanner is connected.

This can make vehicle selection quicker and reduce manual vehicle-entry errors.

AutoVIN availability depends on the individual vehicle and ECU communication protocol.

Where automatic identification is unavailable, the vehicle may instead be selected manually.

Failure of AutoVIN to identify a vehicle does not by itself indicate a fault with the scanner.

Standard OBD2 / EOBD Diagnostics

The LR V3.0 also supports the standard OBD2 / EOBD diagnostic functions available on compatible vehicles.

Functions can include:

  • Read emissions-related fault codes

  • Clear supported fault codes

  • I/M readiness

  • Live data

  • Freeze-frame information

  • Vehicle information

  • Oxygen-sensor monitoring

  • On-board monitor testing

  • EVAP testing where supported

  • Pending trouble codes

These standard OBD functions mainly relate to engine and emissions systems and are separate from the manufacturer-specific Jaguar and Land Rover full-system diagnostics.

Diagnostic History & Reports

The LR V3.0 supports diagnostic history and reporting functions.

Users can, where supported:

  • Review previously tested systems

  • Save diagnostic information

  • Store diagnostic reports

  • Share diagnostic reports

  • Print diagnostic information using a compatible Windows PC

This can be particularly useful for workshops maintaining records of diagnostic work.

4.0-Inch Colour Display

The LR V3.0 features a 4.0-inch TFT LCD colour screen with a resolution of 480 × 320 pixels.

It uses physical buttons rather than a touchscreen, providing simple operation in workshop environments.

Vehicle-Powered Operation

During normal diagnostic operation, the LR V3.0 is powered through the vehicle diagnostic connection.

There is no large rechargeable tablet battery requiring routine charging.

Lifetime Free Software Updates

The LR V3.0 includes lifetime free updates for the standard diagnostic software.

There are no annual standard diagnostic-software subscription fees.

Updates are carried out using a compatible Windows PC and the supplied TF card/update method.

Updates may improve vehicle coverage, protocols and available functionality as iCarsoft develops the software.

Lifetime updates do not guarantee that every future vehicle or diagnostic function will subsequently become supported.

Vehicle & Function Compatibility – Please Read Before Ordering

The LR V3.0 covers a wide range of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles, but coverage is not identical across every model and production year.

A vehicle being supported for general diagnostics does not mean it supports every:

  • Control module

  • Service function

  • Active test

  • Adaptation

  • Calibration

  • Reset procedure

Some supported vehicles provide extensive functionality, while others provide a smaller selection.

Newer vehicle security systems may also restrict access to certain diagnostic functions.

If you require a particular specialist function, check the latest iCarsoft vehicle and function coverage information before ordering.

Do not assume that a function will work on your individual vehicle solely because it appears in the general LR V3.0 feature list.

Safe Use

The LR V3.0 is a professional diagnostic and service tool.

Active tests, adaptations, calibrations and service procedures can command or alter vehicle systems and should only be used when the operator understands the procedure being carried out.

Before performing active tests or service procedures:

  • Position the vehicle safely.

  • Apply the parking brake where appropriate.

  • Keep people and equipment clear of moving components.

  • Maintain adequate vehicle battery voltage where required.

  • Follow appropriate vehicle repair and safety procedures.

  • Do not interrupt calibration or relearn procedures unless instructed.

A diagnostic trouble code identifies information detected by a vehicle control system; it does not automatically prove that a specific component requires replacement.

Correct diagnosis may require additional testing and suitable technical information.

Please Note

Product specifications, software coverage and available functions may change as iCarsoft releases software updates.

Packaging, screen layouts and minor product details may vary between production batches.

The functions available on an individual vehicle are determined by the vehicle itself, its electronic systems and the diagnostic coverage provided by the installed iCarsoft software.
